Day 9, June 9th

Mat 28:16-20 But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated. (17) When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful. (18) And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. (19) "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, (20) teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

  1. Hello Everyone,

A great place to witness is at the gas pump while you’re filling up your car. What’s up with gas prices by the way? Anyway, you kind of have a captive audience if you time it just right. They would really have to not want to talk to you because they would have to stop filling up their vehicle, hang up the pump handle and drive off before they were done.

Today I handed someone a tract and asked if they attended church anywhere. They answered no. I then asked if they had any religious preference – Christianity, Muslim etc… He stated that he was a Christian. So I asked him what it takes to become a Christian. He quickly decided he needed to go clean his car battery or something. I smiled and told him that the central truth of Christianity is the life, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I asked him to read the tract and consider what I had just told him.

Even though this was a brief encounter, the central truth (the Gospel) was proclaimed. I always want to spend time with people and answer their questions. But if I have 5 minutes with someone who I may never see again at a minimum I am going to proclaim the message of 1st importance – the Gospel.

    Blessings,

    Jimmy

  2. Hey all,
I just love golf camp. This morning I was able to share the gospel with two different campers. One, AJ, said she went to church, sometimes. She said you must believe in God to go to heaven. I asked her what she thought the gospel to be, she said again, believe God. I then went on to give her the gospel. I pointed her to the work of Christ for sinners. Then, I engaged another girl, Jessi, both of these young ladies are about 14 years old. We talked about church, she said she had been going to Church on the Move some. I got really excited and told her I had been there once and loved their praise band/music.I toldbout JJStupote and that I am in it. I guess she thought it was very cool- me being the 41 year old flute player. So, we spoke of the gospel, I asked her to come to Mercy Hill June 28th. I am going to follow up with both of these young girls, they seemed interested in Mercy Hill and said they would bring friends!

God was so gracious to me a third time today. I was able to share the gospel at the gym while I ran on the treadmill later in the day. I spoke with Ty. Neat kid. He thought the gospel was being good, following God. I went thru the gospel according to the life, death, burial and resurrection of Christ. He was so great to talk to. He said he attended a Baptist church and always thought it boring before last year, just thought going was a waste of his entire day. He said now he loves it. We talked for a long time after that. He then told me he does ghost chasing as a hobby. I was pretty interested in that so I asked a bunch of questions. It was very interesting to say the least. I asked him if his ghost chasing affected his faith in Christ. He said no. I told him to be very careful, that anything can take away from your devotion to Christ. I used the example of angels. People today seem all caught up in angel worship, Paul warns us of this in Colossians. "Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility, worship of angels, intruding into those things we have not seen, vainly puffed up by your fleshly mind". He really listened to me. I told him to be careful of anything that becomes more important than Christ. I was not sure exactly what to say with all of this ghost talk, I just kept on pointing him to Christ and our desperate need of Him because of our sinfulness.
