Day 2, June 2nd

Thank you everyone who posted yesterday. It is so encouraging to read about your encounters. I pray that God would open a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ.

i shared the gospel today at the kids swimming lessons. i spoke with a gal and asked her what she thought it took to go to heaven. she said ask Jesus into your heart. believe in Him. i then went thru the gospel according to 1Corinthians 15 and we had a great conversation thru most of the swim lesson. she had taken Faith training before, it was a great talk. seemed like she was a believer. and if you guys are gonna get on me for yelling, where are the other gospel accounts on here...........? ha ha ha

  3. I spoke with three of our neighbors this afternoon. I invited them to Bethel this Sunday and told them about our new worship format with JJSTUPOTE. I shared the Gospel with them by describing the focus of our worship. If they came they would hear the Gospel proclaimed and Christ would be our focus; i.e. His perfect life, sacrificial death, burial and resurrection. Sinners would be called to repent and believe and trust in the Gospel. Very sweet people, awesome
    conversation -- God was gracious.

I'm with you Maggie! Keep it up -- I think we should use the blog during our next semester of Evangelism Training.

  4. Sorry I am so late in posting. I had the opportunity of sharing the gospel with the manager of a local restaurant who lives in our neighborhood. He is a very nominal religionist and probably not converted. I invited him to church and explained that it was not one's denominational background that gave a person reason to have hope beyond this life, but only the perfect finished work of Jesus Christ--dying on the cross in our place and rising from th grave to prove that He was and is able to save sinners from our sin. The man listened politely but made no promises.

On another note--I had a brief opportunity to follow up with another neighbor with whom I had previously witnessed. Joshua had invited his family to the JJStupote concert. A family medical emergency had prevented them from attending. He spoke assuringly that they hoped to be in attendance this coming Sunday. I am increasingly encouraged with the opportunities that seem to be opening up around us.

  5. I determined that when I got my Starbucks this morning I was going to talk to the employee at the drive thru. She was very sweet so I was happy about that. Four cars pulled up behind me so I handed her one of our tracts and a tip.

  6. sorry im so late on my post, i had a great conversation with someone i work with. she has asked me in the past if i like going to church, so i commented to her that i really enjoyed the service and fellowship at church, and invited her to go with me. that led straight into me asking her what she believes in. she said she believes in God and heaven and hell. i used what i learned from way of the master and asked if she thinks shell go to heaven. she said she hopes so because she's never done anything "that bad". i went through some commandmens with her and what Jesus considers the same as murder and lust. she seemed genuily interested and asked some questions. i told her that i would buy her a bible since she didnt have one. she seemed almost in shock. i explained to her though that we are talking about eternity and that i care about her. and that it is so important to know Gods standard of "good". i am so excited about opening up a bible with her to show her what God's word says.
