Day 7, June 7th

Blessings All,

I want to thank everyone who has and will participate in this challenge. I recognize that it may not be feasible for some of you to evangelize every day. Please don't let that discourage you from commenting on this blog. If during this 30 day challenge you witness one time we want to hear about it. The challenge isn't a competition it is simply a means to provoke one another to love and good works by sharing our evangelism experiences.

1Co 15:1-4 Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, (2) by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. (3) For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, (4) and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

The verses above provide us with one of the clearest definitions of the Gospel found in the Bible. It is the foundation for our Evangelism - the life, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.

God Bless,

Jimmy

  1. today maggie and jenny and i went to look for someone to share the gospel with in my neighborhood. we met a very nice and very pregnant woman sitting on her front porch. we asked her about her due date and and i offered a baby mattress i have to give away. she is actually getting induced tomorrow and is having her first child, a girl. jenny boldely asked her if she knows jesus. she answered yes and told us that she goes to church here in town. maggie asked her what she thinks it takes to go to heaven. she said that was a hard question to answer. but to follow god's word and to be saved. we talked to her about what it means to be saved. that it is christ's perfect life and death that covered our sins and that he is the way to be saved. maggie talked about the lady's new daughter and how she will be born a sinner and need a savour as well. she listened intently and seemed to agree with what we said. she plans to take the baby to church and said it is importnt to teach your kids. we talked for a while and got to know her better and shared some baby information. she is excited and anxious to meet her little one but also nervous about becoming a mom. maggie prayed for her and the baby, their health, salvation and above all god's glory. i live just down the street from her and pray that god could use me in her life, i plan on visiting her soon and taking a meal or two to her. i am so thankful for jenny's boldness in opening that door wide to share the gospel. god truely is the most high and greatly to be praised. i am very convicted and encouraged to meet more neighbors and share the gospel with them. that i would be a misionary in my own backyard.

  2. Greetings Everyone,

I went to the local Jamba Juice with my son to get our favorite energy drinks. We were the only people in the store so I took the opportunity to share the Gospel with the young lady making our drinks. She was very nice and listened to what I had to say. The encounter was brief but good.

    Blessings,

    Jimmy

  3. Keshia already wrote about this but I wanted to share as well. We had a wonderful time visiting with Keshia's neighbor. We actually walked down the street to visit with a young man and his wife I had met at Home Depotin Jenks a while back, he had told me where he lived and it turned out to be right around the corner from Keshia. In God's providence, we saw this pregnant girl along the way smoking on her porch. She directed us to the home we wanted, when they were not home we decided to go back to the pregnant girl's home. Little Jenni blurted out when we first got there "Do you know Jesus?" We spoke with her about what it means to be saved. That Christ died for us on the cross, God's wrath was poured out on Jesus instead of us. That Christ's perfect life, His righteousness, is what gets us into heaven. We spoke of the resurrection, how that is often left out when we speak of Jesus. She agreed.
This girl really listened to us. God used Jenni in an incredible way. Keshia, being her normal sweet self, showed this girl the love of Christ by offering her a baby mattress as well as making her a meal when she gets out of the hospital. We were blessed by this visit and praying with this girl on her doorstep was really neat. God is so good. I will be praying for Keshia to follow up with this young girl, Jenni and I will try to go back and visit next time we are able to go to Keshia's, the Lord willing.
