Dear fellow laborers in the Gospel,
God bless you and thank you for participating in the challenge. It has been an incredible first few days. Keep those posts coming!
1Pe 3:15 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;
In Him,
Jimmy

Hey everyone, great to read everyone's notes. I will try to post as much as possible. Today is a great day, my soul is at peace and my family is well. What a blessing!

So tonight I was able to share with a man at the golf course whom Bill and I have known for a long time. I knew he was a Methodist. I asked him what he believed it took for a person to be right with God. He said, "Well, that is a very tough question." He paused for a long time, then said, "There are many answers to that. But I guess you must live a life full of good deeds. Of course you could live a life full of bad stuff and then believe at the very end. Or, you could live a Christian life and be a Christian a long time." I was confused after all of that but he did qualify it all at the end and said "But you know, no one will get to heaven unless they believe." I asked "Believe in what?" He said, "Believe in God" I then went through the gospel with him, I spoke about Christ and His work on the cross, His perfect life of obedience, His death, burial and resurrection. I told him that the gospel has nothing to do with us. We must all repent of our sin and believe in Him for eternal life. He smiled nicely and drove off in his golf cart.
ReplyDeleteIt was a good talk. I was praising the Lord that I was able to share with this man. He has been a friend for a long time and I do not remember either one of us sharing the good news with him before. Plus, my daughter was standing there right next to me the entire time.

Hello All,
ReplyDeleteI spent some time tonight talking with two teenage boys; both very nice kids and willing to talk and listen. They were both somewhat versed in the "Evangelical Lingo". I told them I was helping a friend of mine plant a church in South Tulsa and I asked what they look for in a church. They both had pretty good answers -- I told them the name of the church plant (Mercy Hill) and why it was chosen. Mercy Hill represents the location where the greatest act of mercy took place -- Jesus taking the wrath of God upon Himself in the place of sinners like us. I went on to explain that Jesus lived the perfect life that we could not, died a sacrificial death on the cross paying for the sin of many and finally after being in the tomb for three days rose from the dead announcing to the world He had defeated sin and death. I reminded them that only those who trust in that truth will escape the wrath to come (judgment day). Overall it was a great encounter -- both kids were engaged and receptive.
Blessings,
Jimmy
I just want to say something. This challenge is really changing me. I find myself, more than ever, looking for people to share the gospel with. I have always had a burden for the lost, but this daily routine is blessing my life so much. My kids are affected. They are looking for people with me to share the gospel with. I want everyone to know, if you have not joined us yet, join us. It is so wonderful reading my brothers posts on how they are sharing Christ. They are giving me great examples to try myself. This is a great experience and it is becoming life changing for me. Think about it, we have the greatest news on earth, why not share it every day? I am so excited to see what today will bring. Who God will put in my path today to share His wonderful gospel with. He is worthy. His message is really the only thing worthwhile to talk to anyone about.
